Marc Cadin, candidate for the 67th District House of Delegates seat, held his formal kickoff event Saturday night in front of a packed house in Fairfax. Most of the areas elected officials were in attendance and gave the candidate their full support. “Tonight was a showing of unity within the Republican party that I have not seen in Fairfax in quite some time. If we continue on this path we will be hard to beat in November” said Mike Frey, Sully Supervisor and the event’s master of ceremonies.
In addition to Mr. Cadin, who is currently unopposed challenged for the Republican nomination, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, Congressman Frank Wolf, Congressman Tom Davis and State Senator Ken Cuccinelli all made short speeches on Marc’s behalf while State Senator JeanneMarie Devolites Davis, State Senator Jay O’Brien, Delegate Tom Rust, Clerk of the Courts John Frey, School Board Member Steve Hunt, Loudoun County Republican Chairman Paul Protic, Sully Republican Chairman Bob Carlson, and Springfield Chairman Mike Thompson, Sr. were all in attendance at the kickoff. “This outpouring of support means everything to me, my family and to our campaign,” Cadin reiterated.
Senator Ken Cuccinelli began the speeches by pointing out the common goals of the Republican candidates, “Marc and I met several months ago and I could tell that he was a focused candidate. We share a lot of the same precincts and a lot of the same values and we will be working closely together over the course of this campaign.”
Attorney General Bob McDonnell was also impressed by the turnout adding, “Marc’s practical experience as an educator will be an asset both in the campaign and more importantly, in the House of Delegates next year.” The Attorney General added that “we need more teachers involved in the political process.”
And Congressman Tom Davis pointed out, “Having a candidate like Marc on the ballot is proof that the Republicans are on the offensive in Fairfax. Marc is connected to the community and right on the issues that matter most to the citizens of the 67th District – transportation, education, and public safety.”
Congressman Frank Wolf said “We need elected officials in Richmond that can work hand-in hand with their elected officials in Washington to help solve the traffic problems facing Fairfax and Loudoun Counties.” Congressman Wolf added that “I could tell within the first few minutes of meeting Marc last year that he was focused like a laser on solving problems.”
In his remarks, Mr. Cadin indicated that there would be a clear choice between his values, ideas, and ability to deliver for the working families of the 67th which stood in stark contrast to his opponent’s record.
