Marc R. Cadin Announces Run for House of Delegates (67th District)

Today, Fairfax County resident Marc R. Cadin announced his intention to run for the Virginia House of Delegates in the 67th district, with an official kickoff event to be held early next year. Mr. Cadin became the first Republican to file his candidate papers with the State Board of Elections and formally announce intention to run for the seat in the 67th District.

Mr. Cadin stated, “While I am hopeful that new and innovative solutions to our transportation crisis will be offered in the General Assembly’s 2007 session, it has become clear to me that Northern Virginia’s working families need a more effective voice in Richmond. I believe that I can be that voice.”

“As a working parent of three, I feel the pressure that so many of us feel in trying to balance family and work. Too much of our time is spent in senseless gridlock, and too little with our families. As a former middle school civics teacher, I taught my students the critical importance of taking responsibility for our communities through involvement in the legislative process. I feel that now is the time to take my own lesson to heart.”

Mr. Cadin has already received the endorsement of one of Fairfax’s most prominent legislators, Delegate Dave Albo (R- Springfield).

Upon word of Mr. Cadin’s announcement, Delegate Albo stated, “Marc will make a terrific addition to the House of Delegates.” Delegate Hugo concurred, saying, “I have known Marc for some time; he represents the integrity and values of Northern Virginia’s working families. I need more partners like Marc in Richmond.”

The Cadin campaign will have raised approximately $60,000 by the December 31, 2006 filing deadline. This clearly establishes Mr. Cadin as the front-runner to earn the Republican nomination in the 67th District.

“We got to know Marc when he coached our daughter in CYA soccer. Marc is a hard worker and dedicated to solving the very real problems facing families like ours in Northern Virginia. We need people like him representing our interests in Richmond” said long-time Fairfax County and 67th district resident Molly Craig who is among the many constituents in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties supporting Mr. Cadin.

Echoing the sentiments of legislators, business owners and residents alike, Loudoun County and 67th district community member Lynn Hayden says that “Marc is candid, thoughtful, and hard-working. He is a wonderful family man and he’ll be an exceptional advocate for us in Richmond.”
